PCSC NOTEBOOK
CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD ADDS DOUBLEHEADER WITH CAL STATE NORTHRIDGE

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – After rain washed out two games at the Matador Invitational over the weekend, the Roadrunners and Cal State Northridge have added a doubleheader to their schedules. The twinbill will take place at the Roadrunner Softball Complex on Saturday, Mar. 20. Game times are set for 1 p.m. and 3 p.m.

CSUB (7-9 overall) went 2-1 at the Matador Invitational, defeating Saint Mary’s College 8-3 and Iowa 3-0 before a 6-5 upset at the hands of Santa Clara Sunday morning. Steady rains in the San Fernando Valley wiped out a second game against Santa Clara as well as a meeting with CSUN.

The doubleheader with the Matadors will kick off a busy weekend of action for Roadrunner Softball. CSUB will host No. 5 ranked UCLA for a doubleheader the next day (Mar. 21) before heading to Riverside to meet Big West Conference foe UC Riverside Monday (Mar. 22) for another doubleheader.

CAL STATE BAKERSFIELD SELLING ADVANCED TICKETS FOR HOME GAME VERSUS UCLA

BAKERSFIELD, Calif. – Advance tickets for CSUB softball’s Mar. 21 home doubleheader with 11-time NCAA Champion UCLA are on sale now. The general admission ticket price is $5. Individual or groups tickets may be purchased, with groups of 15 or more receiving a $2 discount per ticket.

SEATTLE’S AMADOR NAMED ALL-TOURNAMENT

SEATTLE, Wash. – Seattle University softball player Jessica Amador (Whittier, Calif.) was named to the Bank of Hawai’i Invitational All-Tournament Team hosted by the University of Hawai’i. On the season, the junior catcher is hitting .263, behind 10 hits, six RBIs, five runs, three doubles and a home run. She has seen action in all 14 games this season and has started 13.

Amador and the Redhawks (1-13) will open the home half of the 2010 schedule this week on Wednesday, Mar. 10. They will take on the University of Miami (Ohio) at 3:30 p.m. at Logan Field on the SeattleU campus.
